Default RE: Are .410 slugs enough for deer?

ok, i just thought of this i dont know if i am dumb or somthing, but a .410 compared to a rifle is usually around the same size, now i know that the rifle has alot more fps which with the size the bullet will give it more KE, but the way i think IS SHOT PLACEMENT SHOT PLACEMENT SHOT PLACEMENT that is what is the most important thing, with a bow does speed kill nope, but a good shot does, so i would say that about 50 yards is the max distance, but alot of times shots are with in that distance unless your our west or something, but i have always wondered the same thing about my .410, i just have never bought slugs for it but i am gonna and try it out, maybe this season or the next.
