I had the spine shot experience, and he was stopped in his tracks but I had to sit there for 2 min. or so while he died. The upside of it was I learned (the hard way) that my string will hit the sleve of my jacket and make a huge slapping noise which will startle deer and result in such a crappy shot.

I got one down last year in 25-28 yards with my first hart shot.
