i wouldn't cut down all the trees around it...we have several plots surrounded by trees and when the leaves cover them we just use a leaf blower and try to blow off the majority of the leaves...spray yourself down before blowing the leaves and try to get in and out as quickly as possible...we've had great success with this and even had deer in our plots the same evening that we had just cleaned out the leaves
