What am I going to do to stop poachers? Not much.

If I catch them in the act and can record them breaking the law or get a picture I will and let the law do its thing. If someone steals my stand, I won't be happy, but that is why I wait for the $80 hang ons to go on sale for $30 at the end of the year at D-icks. I've worked very hard to put myself into a position where losing a trail camera or treestand or whatever isn't going to create a major set back. I also don't leave anything in the woods I'm not afraid to lose. I protect my stuff as much as I can, but if somebody really wants it, they will get it.

If I can catch them doing it, I'll report it. If they try to hurt me, I'll give as good as I get, but that is an absolute last resort. I'm no good to my wife and kid if I'm not around.
Good post. Great attitude about it all as well.
I do have to admit when I was DT's age I was all piss and vinegar as well and would have gone to the ends of the earth to find who stole my stuff and make them pay. Having others count on you to be around for them changes your priorities drastically.
