Default RE: a little trapping advice

I would suggest registering on Trapperman.com. You will learn more there than anywhere. As far as trap sizes, I use #2 offset coilsprings for coyote/bobcat. I like 1.65 bridgers or 1 3/4 coilsprings for fox/bobcat. Learn the dirthole set, there are different variations of it. I really like the step down dirthole, search it on trapperman.com if you have time, there are very good, detailed pictures of it.Then you will want to learn the flat set, scent post, etc. If your going after coyote, you'd better be strict on scent control. I have found that most lure gives me similar results. Location is the #1 factor determining how well I do. If you place the trap in the right location, and practice good scent control of your traps, equipment, and the site, then brand of lure will be your least determining factor. That being said, I usually buy my lure from Mr. Lenonon trapperman, priced very good and I've caught a lot of fur off of them.

Good luck to you.
