I've never ownedor even shot one,butfrom everything I've read about them, I would pass on the 7400.

If you are dead set on a semi-auto...save you coins until you can get a Browning BAR. Had one in 30-06 and it was very accurate and never ever had a jam.

I went with the Rem 7600 instead and love it.
