Default RE: Sighting in a riflescope

Just curious Stubble, why you would post this here, as if leading all to think most hunting rifles won't shoot any better....
The simple truth is that a 1-1/2" three shot group at 100 yards is probably even optimistic for the average hunting rifle with factory loads. This includes all hunting rifles from the higher quality bolt actions to the pumps, levers and semi autos.,to the surplus military rifles that some people hunt with. For every rifle that shoots sub moa, there will be some that can't do better than 2moa.Many people still use 30-30 lever rifles, and most would be very very happy with 1-1/2" groups at 100 yards. As well many people do not reload,or even bother to test many factory loads to find the best load for their particular gun.Even Weatherby only offers a 1-1/2" accuracy guarantee with most of their rifles. They charge a healthy premium for the sub moa models..

Then over on the 'Fire, you post thatyours do shoot better, as if leading all to think sub MOA is normal...
As I stated at the campfire,my sub moa groups were produced with high quality bolt actions, shooting handloads developed for each particular rifle. That is a far cry from someone shooting a remington 742 with the factory loads that he picked up ay Walmart because they were on sale.

If you don't understand the difference,it must be because that pain that you keep mentioning is effecting either your reading comprehension or your ability to think clearly.
