I' ve heard that getting above them makes it easier to call--since most hunters say that it is easier to call them uphill--can you around them and then get above them?

Sounds like it' s kind of a " crap shoot" ...and considering turkey behavior--they usually do something " different" than what you would expect. If you can' t get to the top...set up just below them and hope they come to take a peek at you (of course you' ll be ready[>:]
