The two elk I got were with 180 grain accubond bullets out of my 300 win mag. one dropped right there, the other ran about 20 yards. Both shots were around 120 yards.

Neither were broadside shots, the first was facing away from me and was a shot to the back from uphill, between the shoulders. The second was facing stright on. Next time I hunt elk, I'd use the same gun and same bullet. Can't ask for much better results than what I got.
