RE: Anybody Hiring?
AF hunter, check out the local and county governments. My brother retired from the Marines and screwed around as a vice something of a private Catholic school. The head nun drove him nuts and he left. He got on the school board but tired of it quickly. Did a couple other things briefly in the local government and then got on in a county government as kind of a Captain odd job. Before long they all realized military types are used to work and not so much into punching the clock even though there might be something to do. He went from one Captain Odd Job to another, always moving slightly up. They just ask him to accept a position as County Administrator (temporary) Then many members of the board said he should apply for the position because he's figured out what's going on and get's results. He isn't making lawyer money but does knock down in the 80's in a poor economy where 40 grand a year is a lot. He'll retire in 3 years, could in 2, but will stay for the extra monthly increase in retirement. He'll be getting his military retirement as a Colonel and retirement from the county at based on his last three years at $83,000 a year. 56 people applied for the job but he's got the inside tract. If he doesn't get it he'll take his last 2 and this one at 83 and be done with it. It's kind of like an easy military job. Once you're in you're pretty much in for the duration.
