Hi! Ok here goes. I shoot off the shelf for hunting, quicker and more secure,of course must use feathers. When I shot in the oldNFFA shoots, instinctive, I used flipper and other elevated rests. Could use either vanes or feathers, and I shot higher scores with elevated rests, more accurate. Also could use vanes in the rain with a non shelf rest. Must say though ,that I prefer to shoot stick bows off the shelf and I like to cant my bow. Sorry to ramble on , but Im glad I found you guys. Tox
