RE: Tikka T3s

Yesterday, I saw and handled a Tikka T3. My initial impression is that it isn' t up to Whitetail Hunter standards. They dropped the price and threw in a set of rings, something has to give. I saw the synth stock/blued barrel and the synth stock/ stainless barrel. To me, they just don' t have the solid feel of the Whitetail Hunter.
I also yesterday rtead an article in the May issue of Guns and Ammo by Wayne Van Zwoll (sp). Reading a bit between the lines and noting certain wording his test verifies my impressions. He stated " Generally they were accurate, he was getting groups of an inch and a half (most Whitetail Hunters do better), he also stated he got his best groups with a tight sling which signifies to me that there is a bedding problem. I' m sure it is a " good gun" and worth the money but, and this is strictly my impression, it' s not the gun the Whitetail is. I' m still trying to locate a Whitetail with synth stock/blued barrel. I did see one last Tuesday but it was in Kansas City. Ray
