Longbows are generally quieter. Lighter. Longer. They are less susceptable to limb twist, so I think that makes longbows more durable and reliable.

But heck. You can't make wide generalizations any more because now we've got longbows on recurve risers, recurves on longbow risers and everything in between. It's one of those things where you pick what works best for you. On the other hand, I've always questioned how anyone can really live a full and complete life without keeping at least one of each on hand at all times.
