Default RE: Nice gutshot, Andy!

Did he Recover the Goat? Perhaps he knows his limitations and the actual scenerio unfolded slightly different than was filmed, angles can be deceiving.

Shouldn't we give the successful hunter, congratulations and not second guess his every instinct?
Yes. he recovered the goat. Did you see the angle? Let's just say it's one I don't think Andy had been practicing. I congratulate him on his success. But....he made a poor decision (IMO). It's one thing to make a bad shot. It's another thing to know you're making a bad shot....and shooting, anyway.

Are you for real. You say its legal and LETHAL but not ethical. Ummm I don't understand.
OH I don't know.....think Bow head shots....and you'll have a pretty good example of what you don't seem to understand.

One question? Are you that great of a hunter to say you have never made an unethical shot in your life?
This thread has nothing to do with me. But to answer your question....I try not to make conscious, poor decisions before I send one down range. Andy's mistake was made before he touched off his release.

OH....I'm guessing this shot was 40yds or more.....downhill on a 30deg (or more) angle. If Andy's practiced that shot......I'd be surprised. If he has.....to quartering to animals....I recant. That shot (with the animal at the angle it was) had one possible outcome. Gutshot. He hit that mark.

My only issue is the decision he made before he decided to shoot. Poor shots will happen to everyone.
