Nice and you dont think you kill a biggun?
First I've seen of him or the other buck this year. There always seems to be one similar to him every other year or so but it takes being in the right place at the right time. I saw three his size one time opening day two years ago but they didn't come in range. One came just outside my comfort range and I didn't take the shot. Never saw them again. Hopefully he'll start to make a habit of coming down. Those trees behind him in the fuzzy shots are chestnuts and they start falling the first week of bow season and the deer go wild for them. It's a tricky place to hunt though; narrow and long with a west wind almost all the time bisecting the property. Mornings are out because you just push the deer up the mountain, unless you go in a little late and hope to catch bucks feeding their way up the mountain from the alfalfa fields half a mile away. Come rut they criss-cross the property often.
