RE: Well shoot........
The way I see it, everything happens for a reason--like me running a couple hours behind schedule kept me from wasting a few hours and a bunch of gas--so I'll just have to take it at that.
Cool Art--I went to AIT at Ft. Gordon myself. Used to be called "Ft. Resort"--we had heard all about it before we got there, and were looking forward to it. We got there a few weeks after the beer vending machines were removed from the barracks, and the soft cap instructors were replaced by round browns......do I see a pattern here???[:'(]
My MIL lives in Okechobee most of the year (snowbird), and was going to head back down with us originally--just as well she didn't! The retirement community/park where she lives got some big wind--heard there's some damage to her screened-in patio, but could be worse. Last time a palm tree just about 15 feet from her house got ripped out of the ground, the next-door neighbor (you can stand in one driveway and about spit in the neighbor's) lost their porch, and lots of homes were destroyed completely. She's been lucky.
I was really excited about it BC--more for my son and a buddy that was going with me though. Both are bowfishing nuts, and neither has ever had a chance at stingray--at least I've been once before. Going to talk to my buddy on the coast--slim chance we'll get out this year, but there is a chance. If not, we'll just make better plans for FL next year.
Still, I have the elk hunt to look forward too, abig new place for whitetail, and a possible spot for hogs to check out. All things considered, I'd still have to say life is good!
