We've had great success with mock scrapes by simply putting the ol' boots to work and scrapping out a scrape sized area along a trail or somewhere where scouting has shown that there is a lot of deer activity. There are a lot of products out on the market today to put in mock scrapes (everything from deer urine to "dirt") but we've found that simply urinating in them oneself has the same impact. Remember, deer are naturally curious creatures and when they smell the scent and see the scrape you are almost certain to get a reaction. Granted, you still want to spray down to eliminate human odor.
