I have used 50cal. 295 gr. Power Belt Aero Tips and 150 gr. 777 Pellets in a CVA Optima Pro with great success for the past 3 years. They do tend to separate the jacket at very close range. I have had that happen twice. I have also had it not happen 7 times on deer that were under 50 yards. I've killed 31 deer with this ML combo. I have never had a deer go farther than 30-40 yards ... except the one I flat missed. About the longest shot I have taken has been just over 125 yards. Jumped ... whirled left and was down within 40 yards of where he stood. Most have been well inside 75 yards.
