Personally for myself... I have a bit of a moral dilemma when dealing with Yates.
See.. first I hate them. They harass the deer.. cause me headache.. eat animals I shot before I get to them... etc.
But.. I also have great respect for them. Since I know they are only trying to live.. and they are a predator like I.
And then there is the fact I don't eat Yates. Which leads me to my dilemma.
I've taken a few in my day. But with each one have felt almost wrong in doing so. Simply because my old man told me when I was a young lad to eat whatever I ever kill. And I don't eat Yates.
This is my own personal dilemma. Not yours. I know the tote numbers are way unbalanced and getting higher near me.. and I know that many of the folks around here want me to take them out. I've been asked alto about it.
I've personally given myself a cap number. A number I know to put on the Yates.. and I will only take as many Yates up to that number. I did last year and I will do it again.
If a young tote came across me.. I'd likely let it walk.
Introducing morals into this thread is like Rosie saying no to Ho-Ho's ,it just ain't right.

I'm even going to quit nuisance goose hunting this fall, I hear if I harvest the eggs in the spring I will be doing the flocks a favor by not having all those beaks to feed all summer long and the eggs are way more tender . [:-]
Your decisions on killingshould only be looked at from the management side of the equation moral dilemmas have no place in Americas woodlands.
