What I can't explain is how we look at the TV shows as (many do) pure "pitch men", though. I actually don't make the different distinctions. They're simply "staffers" on a different level.
Many of them (TV "pros") are on a different level...the basement...and their bottom line is
directly impacted by how much they talk up a product and shmooze that company in order to receive advertising dollars, unlike "staffers" on a message board that receive no direct monies from simply recommending a product (unless those that inquire may later ask them personally, "where to buy it??" and they recommend their contact and get some sort of commision, which I would think is usually, very unlikely)
I would think that most here would easily recognize someone going a little too far beyond the call of duty to put money directly in their own pocket in a scenario like that.
While they may fractionally perpetuate their own potential to stay employed with a company that's doing well by recommending something...theycertainly aren't the advertising ho(s) that many TV "pros" are.
