The box is mounted to the tree with screws. You can put in around 10 screws into the tree making it nearly impossible to remove from the tree with brute force. The front cover is a little more flimsy than I would like, but not extremely bad. The major drawback to this product is the tiny lock that comes with it (see picture below). This lock wouldn't stand up to the cheapest pair of bolt cutters and the hole is too small to allow a larger lock. The box basically will keep honest people honest and that is it.

If you want a better security box, look at camlockbox.com. This is a much better made product - heavier, thicker guage steel, and you can use a lot bigger lock on it. A thief will have to work much harder to get to your camera. $10 cheaper too.
