MY son is now 5 and has killed around a dozen or so squirrels with his 410. He killed his firt one when he was 4 and everytime we see a squirrel in the yard he is ready to get after it. I think you and your son will have alot of fun chasing those bushytails with a 410. Give him a couple years and then move him on to a 22. Good luck
