Here is the main block all glued up.
After cleaning up some of the excess glue I marked a center line and carefully cut along the line.
No matter how carefull you are there will be some rough ness that needs to be sanded out.
After sanding and making sure everything is square I laid the center accent stip in and measured the height of the block I need it to be 2 1/2"
As you can see I had to add another strip of Yellow Heart to get the height, I had to sand off more than I tought I would.
Here it is all glued up about to go into the heat box for 4 hours.
At this stage I am not too concerned about the excess glue on what going to be the front and back of the riser as there is very little of those areas that will not be cut out when I cut the riser shape what will be there will be sanded away anyway when I do the shaping
I think this is going to turn out to be an outstanding color riser
