My 14" likes just about anything I feed it as far as ammo goes. Just make sure you practice with the same type of ammo you are going to hunt with as it effects the point of impact.
I was shooting mine yesterday with some of my dad's hot loads and some target loads. The hot loads are loaded to the max according to the loading manual and the target loads were chrono'd at 1000fps out of my dad's 8 3/8" barreled revolver. Adjusting the 4x burris scope at 50 yards with the hot loads puts the target loads about 8 inches high at the same distance. That's more than enough to miss deer at that distance.
