Seems to me a lot of you hvent thought the whole thing out, or you dont know most of what devided the U.S. " back in the day" .

History Lesson for ya' - South Carolina seceeded from the union just before Lincoln was inaugurated (sp?). They south felt that they no longer had a voice in any of the decisions in the U.S. They voted for a PRO Slavery President but the North over ruled thier vote. South Carolina stepped up to the plate followed by the rest of the south. Shortly after the secession, the Confederate States of America was introduced, thier president was Jefferson Davis. (Davis was a candidate in the Presidential election but was beaten by Lincoln). The Civil War was started in an attempt to bring the southern states back into the union. After a few battles that the Confederate troops won, Lincoln decided it was time to step it up a bit. He allied with the border states and it became a war to END slavery. So all in all the war was because the SOUTH whined too much because they felt that they werent being heard. It was later said that Lincoln straight up told the South that they had no Constitutional right to Seceed from the Union in the first place.

Personally, I' m a Yank. Im against slavery all together and I think that the Civil War should' ve never happened.

BTW - Being a Rebel isnt merley the fact that youre a countryboy/girl or because you live in the south. Im a country boy, but Im a Yank.
