Default RE: Question for ND hunters

Thanks for the tips.

I'm not sure what other crops he has?

It is a friend of minewho knows the farmer and we will both be heading out there for the opener. We will also be going there in two weeks for some scouting so hopefully that will help us put a game plan together.
Are you just hunting the opening weekend or going for a week. Season starts Aug 29th. Good time to catch bucks in velvet. Generally " most "of thebucks rub their velvet off from the 4th - 10th of September. It is the only time I hunt trees here as we don't have mast producing trees so not much of a reason for bucks to be in them during the daylight normally unless a bedding area or travel corridor ( sp ?? ). Our area is really open ( treeless ) and the deer bed in CRP,Cattail sloughs, corn and sunflower fileds. I can't speak for the area you will behunting as it may be different then mine but something to keep in mind.

The bucks will still be in bachelor groups so that should up your odds. Good luck!!
