Default RE: So you're playing the wind...

Just a question.....WHY would anyone who feels like playing the wind is SO important......employ a grunt tube/rattling antlers in their arsenal.....IF they weren't going to take EVERY OTHER scent control measure possible?
1st of all I've got a pretty good idea on where a buck is going to come from If I would rattle for one. 9 times out of 10 when I rattle the buck comes from the direction I figured he would and its usually upwind or to either side of me which would also be a decent wind. I wouldn't put myself in a bad situation for the wind when I rattle. If I figured that they were coming from the direction my wind would be going I wouldn't be out there to begin with. Sometimes these bucks come from where there not suppose to, they can do that at any given time whether your rattling/grunting or not.

Pre rut and post rut you should know where your bucks are coming from. During the rut one never knows where there coming from. Its a good thing there heads are up there ass then.
