Default Do they really make that much difference?

Does adding a STS string stop or any other string stop worth the money spent? The reason I'm asking is I was thinking of buying one to put on my Buckskin. But will it take away that kick I feel at the end of each shot? Do these gadgets harm the string where contact is made? Is the STS the best on out there? And which mount would be best for my Buckskin, front, or side mount? Advice/opinions appreciated!
