I actually saw a guy on an outdoor show who shot one with a crossbow. They were culling the older bulls. Supposedly when they get real old they lose all of theirteeth and molars and cant shew food anymore and suffer greatly and die.

The guy used a typical crossbow with a fixed broadhead and hit him right between the eyes and he dropped like a......um.....elephant.
