It is still a nice walk in the woods. The target distances have been greatly shortened as I understand it. ( can' t say that I was competing back then.) There have also been a lot of classes added during that time period. You should check the IBO web site for a total listing of classes and their restrictions if you have not already done so. A few people have been learning about distance perception and various factors influencing that. The results are courses with less distance but sustained difficulty. We still shoot unknown distance, while touching the stake, but as stated 8X binoculars are allowed. Please observe the time limits on the stake. The people are still some of the best you will find anywhere. We have also had a few presidents since then including now our second George Bush.
