Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Do you think it was the IR flash that spooked him or could it possibly be that it was making some slight noise? I really don't know. I have never used a Cuddeback so I am just asking.
I use a reconx that ocasionally has a red light come on while taking a picture but I have never seen it spook a deer. And that observation comes from sitting on stand and watching deer react to it before daylight while hunting.
I have that camera from Reconx, it's the Primos Silent Image. I do love the unit, although it'svery pricey. The problem is that it spooks mature deer as well. It only flashes red light(IR), but it seems some deer don't appreciate it very much. This was a huge let-down. I thought I had bought the best camera on the market.
There is another make of camera out of Cabelas that takes pictures with no help from a light source. No flash, no red IR illuminators, just night pictures......unfortunately I can't remember the name of it.
Here's an image of a decent buck that was captured last winter....he didn't stick around for the 8x10 glossy.[&:]
In any case Shultzy, that's some beautiful footage, and good luck with him.
AR Bowhunter, I hadn't heard of the RC-60. Is it new? I guess my camera must be the RC-55.
