I had a warranty problem with some Nikon binos a few years ago (4-5) and I was NOT impressed with Nikon's response (send it in and we'll charge you $70 to repair them....on a pair of binos that only cost about $100).
So, unless they've changed their support I won't be buying from them if I can avoid it. Leupold has been better for me with bino repairs and Zeiss has been wonderful, sending me a replacement anytime I've called. So for me Zeiss is the answer and the Conquest line you can get a 3-9x40 foraround $400.

If that is too much the Bushnell Elite 3200 4-12x40 I just bought for my wife this year is quite a nice piece of glass too.
If you can, look through your options at a Sportsman's Warehouse or Cabelas store if you can and your eyes will tell you which is the best in your price range. Just be careful of the warranty on some optics as that can make a big difference if you ever have a problem.
