I like the model seven that Head recommended. I've got one and love it. It should come in any three of those calibers. Kind of a toss up on caliber choice. I'm partial to the .243 myself but any of those will do. If your dad has relatively little experience, you may want to reduce the recoil (such as it is) to the lowest possible amount. I talked a newbie buddy of mine into a tikka .243 and he still mentioned the recoil (panzy). I let him shoot my 7mm to know what recoil ( and of course it still isn'tTHAT bad) really felt like
