Default RE: a dummy in the stand

The Drury's did something like that a few years ago. They had a ground blind they hunted and would get busted in, so they made some human sillouette cardboard cut outsand put them in the blind wearing camo. They came back and hunted and took a nice buck.

I also read an article many years ago about a guy who had exclusive rights to a large woodlot, but there were no terrain feature or edge cover to create a funnel. Just a block of uniform timber. So what he did to funnel the deer was to put up stands near the bedding area that were very conspicuous but about 100 yards off to the side each way (200 yards apart). He put more stands tapering in like a V funneling toward his stand. When opening day came he put out dummy hunters with solid orange and put aftershave on them the night before. He washed up and got in his stand and took a nice buck.

So, it can work.

If you don't know what to do with the dummy when you get there you could get one of those inflatable dolls they sell and deflate it once you get to the stand. I think Germ might have one or two he is done with.[8D]
