We drag all of our deer out by hand with a rope tied to the neck or rack (depending on time of year). If its a heavy one we'll get a stick and tie the rope to the middle of the stick so 2 of us can pull at the same time. When dragging a huge bear out we'll put another stick in between the people in front pulling and the bear and add 2 more people pulling then. Otherwise quartering it out works also.
