RE: License Fee Increases in Pa
Frank-
Thanks, I'm glad others DO see at least some of it the same as I do.
BTB--
I have no problem whatsoever with the "earn-a-buck" program, in fact I think in some areas of PA it should become mandatory. This would not only take out a definitive number of does, but allow some bucks to live through the season and possibly become "trophies", and also allow those looking for meat a chance to fill their freezer at the same time. PA for alot of us non-residents has always been a "meat-run" moreso than a trophy hunt anyway, and by implementing more and more restrictions, tags to try and get, and hoops to jump through, it effectively defeats our primary purpose and drives us to spend our money in other states.I really don't think that this is what the PGC intends to do, as the NR fees make up alot of their overall revenue.
I firmly believe that in light of the Alt-acknowledged problem of having too many does throughout the state, all archers should be given the opportunity to harvest either one or the other, OR one doe first, THEN a buck of 3 points or better. If we cannot effectively eliminate the amount of does they feel need to be taken out, then implement a three or five or whatever day additional doe season for rifle. MORE freedoms, not less, as stated before, and the herd will eventually balance itself out. Just my own thoughts, Pinwheel 12
