This area where the deer came from is a grossly over-populated area. The campus of Berry College has roughly 30000 acres and 10,000 acres around campus are never hunted. These deer spend their hunting season on campus because its a safe haven. The rest of the area is open to public for special hunts.

I once shot a 4.5 year old 8 pt there. It scores about 90 and field dressed at a whopping 94 lbs. I have seen 1.5 year old deer weigh in there at 45-55 lbs dressed. I have seen fawns (just lost their spots) weigh in at the 25-30 lbs.
