There is a lot of difference between your typical domestic hog and a typical wild hog, just because you can safely and effectively kill the one with a 22 lr does not mean it would be a good idea to make a practice of tyring to kill the other with it. Under the right circumstance you can also kill a griz with a 22 lr, are you suggesting that it would be wise to hunt them with a 22 lr. I strongly disagree with retrieverman when he says that whatever you use for deer is just fine for hogs, although I do agree with him that you don't need a bazooka

A medium weight for caliber, medium tough bullet construction in just about any caliber above .243 will work for deer, but, until you get up towards the .30 calibers, they are less than optimal for hogs.
Yes, medium weight for caliber bulletsin 7mm will work on hogs, but the question was "What will work best".
In the 7mm, I would use either a barnes tsx, remington core-lokt, or nosler partition, in the heaviest weight for caliber bullet I could find.
