I wouldn't buy something that's not what you really want just to save a few bucks. Two days after you buy it you'll be thinking, "heck, for $50 more I could have had a ...."
Weathershield is only a "psuedo-stainless" anyway, so why not just spurge andbuy real stainless then?
I recently posted about this one reported problem with Wethershield. Granted it's an isolated incident and under warranty, but is Weathershield all that's it'scracked upto be?
The same with the BDC scope, is it over-rated or is it as good as Nikon wants people to think? That's why I previously posted the pdfmanual, because it describes some of the pitfalls of the BDC reticle.

It goes onto say that after experiementation, the user canaimusing the top or bottom of the circles. Maybe theOmega scope with theconventional Nikoplex reticle
is better than having too much faith in the BDC reticleonly to find out later that it doesn't work quitethe sameasadvertised. Who usuallyreads the manual before buyinga scopeanyway?
