RE: 22-250 or .223
If I could only have one it would be a 22-250. I own several 223's, along with 22-250's. But as I said, if I could only have one it would be the 22-250.
I definitely hunt more with my 223's, because I like to be able to see impacts. It is easy to see impacts with the 223's. The 22-250 is just a bit much to be able to see impacts.
As others have said the 223 runs out of steam when you get out past 300 or 350 yards. The 22-250 keeps on going past 350 yards.
It is also cheaper to shoot the 223 if you buy factory ammo. If you reload then cost will be very close.
If I were you I would base your decision on what you will be hunting, how far you will be shooting, and whether you reload or not. Tom.
