I prefer a 22 mag or 17hmr for coons, but a 22 will do the trick. I would sighta 22in for25 yards. although you really dont need a scope for shooting within 25 yardsin my opinion. I shoot all my coons within 10 yards of the base of the tree, unless they have a hole in that tree, in which case I back off tob/w 100 and 150 yds call them out of there hole and shoot them with my 223.
