Default RE: Kill or harvest?

ORIGINAL: tsoc

These threads always crack me up.They come up quite often and the responses are quite comical.I don't use the word harvest, because it just doesn't sound right to me.I say shot or took or killed depending upon who I am having the discussion with.I have no problem with someone using the word harvest.I am quite sure I know what they did.
The thing that makes me laugh are the guy's who some how think that if you don't say kill your a whimp, like somehow saying kill elevates their man status. What a freakin joke! Living your life with honor and integrity makes you a man, loving and supporting your family to the best of your abilities makes you a man.Using the word kill in a conversation with a person who you know it will offend makes you a moron.Yeah let's force our beliefs down someone's throat and really show them what fine people we hunters are!

There's no need to force any beliefs down anyones throat tsoc.

Political correctness has justtaken many away from the realities of life. I feel if you can eat a steak, burger, porkchop, or a venison tenderloin......you damn better well know somthing was killed so you could live. If you are a meat eater that's the reality. Too many times I've heard someone say "I really love steak or meat, but I can't really think about where it came from, or how it was killed." These people are detached from reality. So now to appease them(anti hunters and the squeemish), some say "harvest" so maybe the thought of actually killing somthing for food is bypassed and maybe.......just maybe the sqeemish actually think we gathered it. Well I don't know about anyone else, but this burns me up a bit.

We as humans are meat eaters and hardwired to hunt and kill. I don't feel there is a need to soften the blow to some who are squeemish of the word. It is a simple reality. Nothing stands better than the truth. If you'renot a hunter, fine. If you'renot a meat eater, fine......but that still doesn't take away from the reality of what we do(hunters).

I would love to see what the vegans and vegetarians would do if there was a real crisis in our world, and there were no supermarkets to buy tofu and soyburgers.Well, either die..... orset out and kill some food. That ancient hardwiring would immediately kick in. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that would be "supporting your family to the best of your abilities". ....pretty admirable in my book.

Using the word kill in a conversation with a person who you know it will offend makes you a moron.
This comment disturbes me a bit as well, simply because...........why should it? ...and how doyouknow it will offend? You are simply being truthful as a hunter, and describing a reality.

In my eyes, one who gets offended by this reality of life is a moran.
