Mark and I went to a private lake yesterday for the first time. I posted on here before about getting permission to shoot there. The property owner said he has a terrible carp problem and he really wants them out of there, so we are going to do our best to help him out.

Anyways, we only got 2 passes around the lake and the fish were spooked. We didn't see hardly anything on the third trip around. We shot 16 fish tho, and of course missed alot more. The weird part came this morning when Mark dummped the fish on his farm. He said that 10 of the fish were quillbacks, and only 6 were buffs. And the buffs were all bigmouths. What kind of farm pond has only quillbacks and bigmouth bufs? I've never heard of anything like that. 3 of the buffs were well-over 10 pounds with one tipping the scales at 16.3, both our biggest to date. We both hit it, but I honestly don't remember who hit it first.
Just wanted to share this with you. Oh, and btw, to the folks I told we might be able to have a mini shoot out there, the lake is not only really small (about 12 acres i believe), but you need a small, narrow boat and 4-wheel drive to get it back there. What a pain we had!
