But even then, a quad couldn't go anyplace that my truck cannot.
I have an ATV..........a Toyota Tundra....A GMC Yukon.....and Jeep Wrangler.
What kinda thruck do YOU have?....lol My ATV goes places my vehicles wouldn't dare even attempt.
I've got a buddy who drives one of those new 550 series Mercedes Benz. I don't begrudge him how hegets to work....even though I choose to take a different mode of transportation.
Jeff... I don't think your ATV could make it through a SE VA cutover. My truck can't either.... its bad enough with just me, a machete and apair of briar britches. Almost everything else is fields (lots of good edge cover leading to the fields.
We have the following types of terrain around here: fields, swampy bottoms, cutovers, roads, sparse big woods.
Obviously we can't drive through the fields... but we can walk through them if we're careful and mindful. Swampy bottoms... foot traffic only. Cutovers.... rabbits only.... or deer on the trails. Roads.... well thats for everything. The little bit of big woods we have... still a lot of undergrowth, and if there is no undergrowth on the forrest floor then by and large you won't have many deer.... not with all the fields and cutovers so full of food and thick cover.
My point with that statement is that there isn't anyplace that I hunt, or have ever hunted really, that I could go on a 4 wheeler that I cannot go by foot or simply in my Blazer. Its just a small thing.... little more than a 2-door glorified 4x4 station wagon.
Now I could cut quad trails across the property.... but I think simply walking in is a lot less work.
Hell who knows... maybe that why I'm not killing more deer.... maybe I need to come strokin' in ona quad???
