Make sure that you use low temp. setting and use a good amount of liquid (though you don't want to boil the roast). A good sized roast can takeat least 4-5 hours at this setting. Something that I always add is the bacon grease that I have saved. A couple of good table spoons will definitely add to the flavor. Also make sure that you use some crushed fresh garlic in your mixture.
