Default RE: hog hnting illinois??????

Hogs live fine in Siberia, that is where they are from. The cold is no problem. The problem is that wild hogs are not wanted in Illinoise. It is just like Iowa, where I live. Here the DNR wants us to shoot free roaming hogs on sight. They would wreak havoc on corn fields and be a source of desease for confinement operations. This all being said free roaming hogs do exist in very small numbers along the Des Moines River corridor in central Iowa, and in parts of SW Iowa. Iowa is about like Illinoise as far as agriculture goes and in the attitude towards wild hogs.

I can guarantee that free roaming hogs are not wanted in Illinoise.

If I see a free hog while out deer hunting, I will try to kill it. The current trend is towards hogs becoming a real problem in the future. Keep in mind that they are considered to be a pest in many places even though people enjoy hunting them.
