Default Cold Fronts and turkey hunting

this morning a nice little cold front came in sending the temp down into the upper 40s. We were hunting yesterday and we had a bird coming but he didn' t want to cross a stream. Today, we had 5 birds gobble on roost but it seems that they shut up as soon as the hit the ground. Does cold fronts affect the calling of a gobbler?
