Well i'm on my way now....i did some deep cleaning with hot water and Murphy's oil soap on the Hawken, and built myself a new shooters bench. i puchaced some 370 gr TC maxi ball and tried a few rounds at 50 yards last night. i didn't care for the pre-lubed bullets to much as the lube itself was crumbling and falling to pieces as i tried to load... think i mat clean them up and lube them myself with TC bore butter today....
i have a fiber optic front sight pin i tried removing the fiber pin and shooting it that way...worked ok untill low light time of day...i think i may have to put the stock iron sight back on it and file it down some. the fiber optic pins are great for low light, but they are so big they cover up your dot at long distance...i gotta work the bugs out of that after i get my loads dialed in and shooting consistant.
here's a couple shots of my shooting bench....<a href="
