Happened to me this spring. Had to fix the fence myself because the neighbor is a turd. Then filed a lien with the county. Eventually he will have to pay me back, but it could take up to a year to get it. As far as damages to the property, the county told me to keep track of the time and expenses and they would file a lien for up to $10 per hour plus expenses. I still don't have it all fixed so I don't know what total damages will be. Check with the county the farm is in to see what you are entitled to.
