Default RE: Need help with bullet choice

ORIGINAL: frontier gander

yeah aint nothin like a lethal shot up the ass.

the other choice is to let it go and stalk it for a lethal and respectable shot.

would be nice to know where his first shot hit and what the distance was.
FG,
So a respectable shot at a running away wounded grizzly is let it go and stalk it. Then what shoot itfacing you or quarting to you or broadside and if it runs away again pursure it till it presents a frontal shot? What makes this not a respectable shot? Because it was running away andit was"shot it in the back"? I am curious as to your thinking and value system on a wounded animal. If the animal was not wounded I would say your right on, since obvious the shot was not a good one, but the fact that it was wounded means you have to shoot till it id down. I have seen pictures in Outdoor Life of shots on a Cape buffalo and one of the shots is "straight up the butt". Now my question is why would they show that diagram and shot placement if it wasn't OK. They certainly did not show a shot at the brain when the animal is walking away, wonder why? Wonder why straight up the butt, instead of the brain shot?
Best Wishes,
Chap
